Gladiolus are a perfect, easy to grow cut flower and a magnificent accent for the summer garden.

CULTURAL NOTES: Plant in well-drained soil in full sun 4-6" deep and in tight groups 2-4" apart, and protect from wind if possible. Cut stems for cutflowers when 1/3 of the blooms are open. Glads are not hardy, although they frequently winter over in mild winters.

NOMENCLATURE NOTES: 'Gladiolus' (Genus name from the Latin diminutive of 'gladius': a sword.)
